About the project
Dubai Opera is a 2,000-seat multi-format performing arts venue located in the Opera District of Downtown Dubai, opened by Emaar on 31 August 2016. Designed by Atkins under lead architect Janus Rostock, the building's exterior evokes a traditional Arabian dhow, referencing the maritime heritage of the creek. The auditorium is fully transformable between three operational configurations — theatre, concert hall, and flat-floor — using motorised stage and seating systems.
